Nurse, Mother, Healer - the joy of photographing Alexandra
In between the cute cuddles of photographing newborn babies and their families, I spend time photographing a range of adults doing personal branding and headshot photography sessions. It really is the best of both worlds. Alexandra Browne-Hill was in a need of a new portrait for a paper she was having published internationally. That sounded pretty cool. Yep. But what I didn't know at the time was that I was about to meet a beautiful woman, with a wonderful soul, who was a true joy to photograph.
Such a softly spoken and warm person. Her life story was speckled with tragic family events including the sudden deaths of her 17 year old son, her younger sister, her brother in law and finally the father of her children. Any one of these tragedies would have stopped most people in their tracks. Yet she took the alternate path - of self healing and enlightenment. As Alex put it, she not only survived but she flourished as she turned towards her years of training in complementary healing. And now, whilst continuing to work as a nurse, she has traveled the world and assists people with their own healing. She has also authored a book and I'm looking forward to the 2nd one coming out shortly (we joked afterwards that we really felt a Joan Collins vibe coming through in her session!).
If ever you've suffered grief - be it the loss of a loved one, a job, a relationship, an opportunity, Alex has a remarkable way of looking at it and setting you on the right path.
